⬤Custom Test Equipment
Custom Designed & Built Test Equipment
Innovative Engineering Solutions (IES) designs and builds custom Special Test Equipment (STE), Automated Test Equipment (ATE), electronic systems, and electromechanical equipment for applications where commercial solutions cannot meet the required performance, configuration, or operating environment.
Our engineering and manufacturing teams take projects from initial requirements and concept development through detailed design, fabrication, electronics integration, controls, assembly, and testing. Whether the requirement is a one-of-a-kind test system, a specialized piece of production equipment, or a repeatable design for higher-volume manufacturing, IES develops practical solutions tailored to the application.
Special Test Equipment & Automated Test Equipment
IES has extensive experience developing specialized test equipment for aerospace, space, defense, medical, and industrial applications. Our engineers design equipment to measure, control, stimulate, and verify hardware under specific operating conditions and test requirements.
Custom equipment may incorporate mechanical systems, electrical and electronic assemblies, sensors, instrumentation, fluid systems, actuators, data acquisition, and automated controls. By combining these disciplines in-house, IES can develop complete test systems rather than relying on off-the-shelf components that may not meet the application requirements.
Our capabilities include:
Special Test Equipment (STE)
Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
Functional and Performance Test Systems
Instrumentation and Data Acquisition Systems
Electronic and Electromechanical Assemblies
Custom Fixtures and Test Interfaces
Automated Controls and Control Systems
Prototype and Proof-of-Concept Hardware
Production Test Equipment
Engineering & Design
IES provides the engineering expertise required to take a test-equipment concept from an initial requirement to a fully operational system. Our design process can include requirements development, system architecture, concept design, detailed mechanical and electrical design, engineering analysis, prototyping, and design verification.
Our engineers use 3D CAD, SolidWorks, and advanced CAM tools to develop precise mechanical designs and manufacturing data. Where appropriate, we perform finite element analysis, flow analysis, and other engineering evaluations to ensure the design will perform as required before fabrication.
Electronics & Electromechanical Systems
IES maintains an in-house electronics prototyping capability for developing electronic and electromechanical devices and integrating them into custom test systems. This capability allows mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control elements to be developed as an integrated system.
We support projects ranging from single-unit prototypes and specialized laboratory equipment to production quantities of several thousand units. When additional manufacturing capacity or specialized processes are required, IES works with qualified manufacturing partners to support production while maintaining engineering and program oversight.
In-House Fabrication & Integration
Our manufacturing capabilities allow us to rapidly transition custom designs into physical hardware. Using CAD/CAM, CNC machining, fabrication, assembly, and integration capabilities, IES can manufacture both prototype and production hardware while maintaining close coordination between engineering and manufacturing.
This integrated approach is particularly valuable for specialized test equipment, where mechanical hardware, instrumentation, electronics, and controls must function together as a complete system.
Designed for the Test Environment
A major advantage of IES is our extensive experience designing and operating test systems. We understand the requirements imposed by real-world testing—including instrumentation, sensor placement, data acquisition, control, fluid handling, pressure, temperature, vibration, structural loads, and environmental conditions.
That experience allows us to design test equipment with the actual test application in mind, rather than simply building a piece of hardware that meets a drawing.
Our custom equipment can be developed to support a wide range of IES testing capabilities, including cryogenic, hydraulic, fluid-flow, structural, vibration, thermal, vacuum, pressure, leak, and systems-level testing.
From Concept to Operational Equipment
IES provides a single engineering resource for developing specialized test equipment and custom hardware. Our teams work closely with customers to define requirements, develop the design, fabricate and integrate the equipment, verify functionality, and support final deployment.
Whether you need a one-of-a-kind test system, automated production equipment, specialized instrumentation, or a custom prototype, IES combines engineering, manufacturing, electronics, and hands-on test experience to develop equipment specifically for the application.
