Structural Testing

IES personnel bring a wealth of experience in conducting comprehensive structural test programs across diverse industries. Our expertise spans large-scale aerospace structures, such as the United Launch Alliance Atlas, Vulcan and Boeing Artemis launch vehicles to smaller, precision-engineered components used in those systems.  From initial test planning to procedure development, we provide end-to-end support tailored to your specific project requirements.

Our testing capabilities are flexible and adaptable to suit your needs. We can perform testing either at our fully equipped facility or in some cases on-site at your location. Our extensive inventory of test equipment and instrumentation enables us to handle a wide range of testing scenarios, from measuring a few pounds of force along a single axis to exerting over 100,000 pounds of force across multiple axes simultaneously.

Our Resources include MTS Flex Test 200 and Flex Test 20 systems as well as custom load and control systems that enable us to control on Force, Strain or Deflection.  Our resources include Special Test Equipment (STE), Automated Test Equipment (ATE), and instruments for force, strain, and displacement measurement. Our advanced data acquisition systems ensure accurate and reliable recording, while our software analysis tools facilitate the development and verification of models, ensuring that test results align with project goals. Additionally, we are well versed in ambient and Cryogenic materials testing which include Fatigue and Material properties for Metals, Composites and thin cryogenic membranes which may have ultimate strengths of just a few pounds.

Whether your project includes aerospace structures, advanced Cryogenic power/energy storage, industrial machinery or cryogenic equipment.  Our team’s dedication to excellence, combined with our advanced tools and flexible capabilities, ensures that we can meet the most demanding testing requirements with accuracy and efficiency. Let us be your trusted partner in structural testing and analysis.

When structural integrity is critical to mission success, organizations trust IES to provide the engineering expertise, specialized equipment, and proven test methodologies required to qualify hardware, reduce technical risk, and accelerate product development.
