⬤Refurbishment and Rebuild Hardware
IES provides comprehensive refurbishment, inspection, testing, and recertification services to safely return flight and ground support hardware to operational readiness. Every refurbishment project follows a disciplined, documented process that ensures traceability, quality, and confidence in the hardware's flight readiness.
Refurbishment and Rebuild Hardware Details
Our Return-to-Flight process includes:
Initial Inspection – Perform a comprehensive external inspection and document the as-received condition, including detailed photographs and engineering observations.
Controlled Disassembly – Carefully disassemble the hardware while documenting internal component condition. All parts are identified, cataloged, protected, and stored to maintain complete configuration control and traceability.
Cleaning & Restoration – Clean components using approved processes to restore hardware to original cleanliness and workmanship requirements while preserving critical surfaces and features.
Engineering Evaluation & Disposition – Inspect all internal and external components for wear, damage, or degradation. Engineering dispositions are documented, and customer approval is obtained before repair or replacement activities begin.
Reassembly & Component Replacement – Reassemble hardware in accordance with approved procedures, replacing worn or damaged components as required and installing all new seals, gaskets, O-rings, and other soft goods to restore the assembly to like-new condition.
Acceptance Testing & Flight Recertification – Perform Initial Acceptance Testing (IAT) to original production or customer-specified acceptance requirements, verifying that the refurbished hardware meets all functional, performance, and quality requirements for return to service.
