⬤Design + Development

IES transforms concepts, sketches, and legacy designs into engineered, validated hardware. Our integrated design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing capabilities take complex aerospace and industrial applications from initial concept through prototype, verification, and qualification.

Design and Development

Innovative Engineering Solutions (IES) provides engineering design and development services for complex aerospace, space, defense, and industrial applications. From an initial concept, sketch, or legacy drawing to a fully engineered and validated piece of hardware, our team combines mechanical design, engineering analysis, manufacturing, and testing to develop practical solutions for demanding applications.

From Concept to Proven Performance

IES engineers specialize in solving complex technical challenges and developing components, assemblies, systems, test equipment, and specialized hardware tailored to specific customer requirements. Whether you provide a detailed performance specification, existing engineering drawings, legacy documentation, or simply a conceptual sketch, we can develop the design and transform it into a complete three-dimensional digital model.

Engineering Integrated with Manufacturing & Testing

A key advantage of IES is the ability to move directly from engineering design to physical hardware and test. Our precision manufacturing capabilities allow us to rapidly produce prototype and production-quality components, while our Murrieta Test Facility provides extensive capabilities for evaluating hardware under actual or simulated operating conditions.

Depending on the application, designs can be evaluated through cryogenic, hydraulic, fluid-flow, structural, vibration, thermal, vacuum, pressure, leak, and systems-level testing. This integrated approach allows engineers to use actual test data to refine designs and verify performance rather than relying solely on analysis and simulation.

By combining engineering, manufacturing, and testing, IES can identify and resolve problems earlier in the development process, shorten development cycles, and deliver hardware that is ready for qualification and production.

Development Focused on Manufacturability

Good engineering does not end with a design that works—it must also be manufacturable, testable, maintainable, and supportable. IES incorporates DFM and DFA principles throughout the development process to improve production efficiency, simplify assembly, control costs, and support long-term hardware availability.

Close coordination between our engineering and manufacturing teams allows designs to be evaluated from both perspectives before production begins.

A Complete Engineering Resource

IES provides the engineering, manufacturing, and test capabilities required to take complex hardware from concept through qualification. Whether developing a new product, improving an existing design, creating specialized test equipment, or revitalizing legacy aerospace hardware, our engineers work closely with customers to define requirements, develop practical solutions, build the hardware, and verify that it performs as intended. The result is not simply a digital design—it is engineered, manufactured, tested, and proven hardware ready for its intended application.

Our engineering capabilities include:

  • Concept Development & System Architecture

  • Detailed Mechanical Design & 3D CAD

  • Engineering Analysis & Simulation

  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

  • Flow and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analysis

  • Thermal and Structural Analysis

  • Performance Modeling and Simulation

  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM)

  • Design for Assembly (DFA)

  • Prototype Development and Fabrication

  • Design Verification and Validation

Using tools including SolidWorks, COSMOSWorks, and ANSYS, our engineers develop, analyze, and refine designs before hardware is committed to production. This engineering-driven approach helps identify potential design issues early, improve manufacturability, and reduce the cost and risk associated with development.

From Legacy Hardware to New Design

IES also specializes in developing and improving hardware where the starting point may be old drawings, incomplete documentation, obsolete components, or legacy designs. Our engineers can recreate three-dimensional models from existing documentation, evaluate existing designs, identify manufacturing challenges, and develop updated designs while maintaining the required form, fit, function, and performance.

This capability is particularly valuable when supporting legacy aerospace systems where original manufacturing knowledge or suppliers are no longer available.
