⬤Testing Services
We deliver complex, mission-critical testing tailored to the unique requirements of aerospace, defense, space, and advanced technology programs. Our capabilities span cryogenic, structural, vibration, hydraulic, thermal, environmental, and other specialized test disciplines.
What sets us apart is our ability to integrate multiple test environments into a single, highly controlled test program. By combining and sequencing capabilities, we replicate the extreme conditions and coupled environments that critical hardware must withstand in the real world.
From individual component qualification to complex system-level validation, we engineer test solutions for the most challenging requirements—when standard testing isn't enough.
We engineer and execute customized testing solutions that meet your requirements, validate performance, and ensure your success.
IES provides specialized cryogenic testing with liquid hydrogen (LH₂) and liquid nitrogen (LN₂) across flow rates ranging from a few liters per hour to hundreds of gallons per minute. Our flexible cryogenic infrastructure also supports LNG, liquid helium (LHe), and liquid oxygen (LO₂) for demanding aerospace, energy, and advanced technology applications.
Cryogenic Testing
IES provides comprehensive structural testing solutions, from test system design and analysis to fixture fabrication, control system development, and test execution. Our capabilities include load and reaction fixtures, open- and programmable closed-loop control, durability testing, and custom solutions for the most demanding structural test requirements.
Structural Testing
From microfluidic systems to high-volume flow applications, IES provides customized fluid testing with precise flow measurement, pressure control, and advanced data acquisition. We deliver the engineering expertise and actionable data needed to validate and optimize critical fluid systems.
Vibration and Shock
IES integrates engineering, instrumentation, and advanced test capabilities to validate complex systems under real-world operating conditions. By combining pressure, flow, temperature, vibration, and other environments, we verify that critical subsystems work together as designed—providing the data and confidence needed to qualify hardware and achieve mission readiness.
Systems Level Testing
IES provides advanced vibration and shock testing to evaluate the durability and performance of mission-critical hardware under demanding dynamic environments. Our 16,000-lbf electrodynamic shaker system delivers sine, random, and sine-on-random excitation from 3 to 2,000 Hz, supported by precision instrumentation and advanced data acquisition for accurate, repeatable test results.
Cryogenic Materials and other Physical Properties Testing
IES evaluates the performance and physical properties of metals, composites, polymers, insulation systems, and advanced materials across extreme temperature environments. Our capabilities routinely extend to -423°F (20.4 K), the temperature of liquid hydrogen (LH₂), with specialized testing to -452.5°F (4.2 K), approaching liquid helium (LHe) temperatures, and to several thousand degrees Fahrenheit at the high end. Our specialized instrumentation and test capabilities provide precise, reliable data for material qualification, design validation, and advanced research.
Proof and High-Pressure Testing
IES provides proof pressure, burst, pressure cycling, and leak testing up to 15,000 psi to validate the integrity and performance of mission-critical hardware. Using hydrostatic and pneumatic methods with air, nitrogen, helium, and hydrogen, our engineers deliver controlled, traceable testing to support design validation, qualification, and certification.
Submerged Cryogenic and Turbomachinery Testing
IES provides unique capabilities for testing pumps, turbines, and turbomachinery immersed in LH₂, LOX, and LN₂ under controlled pressure, temperature, flow, speed, and load conditions. Our specialized infrastructure delivers high-fidelity performance data to validate rotating hardware for the most demanding aerospace and space applications
